The Coronavirus (COVID-19) is spreading rapidly worldwide. The primary way it is spread is when sick people cough, and other people breathe in their respiratory droplets, however, it can also live on surfaces for days.
People who are sick can also shed the virus, which can spread it to those around them.
To avoid contraction, use social distancing to stay away from people with symptoms, including coughing and sneezing, as much as possible.
If you contract coronavirus, or there are multiple cases within your community, stay home to avoid spreading or contracting the virus.
Prepare for the coronavirus by stocking up on necessary medications, food, household goods such as toiletries, and pet foods. Try to ensure you have enough supplies to get through two to four weeks of confinement should community transmission begin to occur.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) quarantine checklist:
Two to four weeks of:
- Prescription medications
- Cold and flu medicines, including cough drops, fever lowering medications and products to help with symptoms of sinus and chest congestion
- Hand sanitizer
- Wipes
- Toiletries
- Pet foods
- Water filter
- Non-perishable foods
- Laundry and dish soaps
- Clorox, Lysol or other virus and bacteria killing products
- Face masks
Make a list of items you will need to sustain you and your family should the virus spread to your community, and keep informed to ensure you are aware of any cases that may arise in your area.
